The Cistercian Monastery Chorin was built in 1273. It is one of the most important buildings of North German brick Gothic. Since 1965, concerts have taken place in the inner courtyard of the monastery as part of the Choriner Musiksommer. Another event is the Kappellenkonzerte. These enjoy great popularity every year. Every year in front of the monastery is the Easter Spectaculum of the group Spilwut, a medieval jugglery festival.
